Here's my story:
I'm Adi Firefly, and I've been "acrodicted" for several years now.
In 2015, I sustained a TBI (traumatic brain injury) when I fell a short distance in a hands-free jump into superfree shoulder stand and lived through the experience of Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) for a full year. The incident changed my life as I knew it, providing the impetus to create educational and community-building resources to others that may otherwise sustain similar injuries.
My goal is to create a Safety in Acro (SIA) website. This site will act as a platform to bring together communities and individuals through a resource that integrates concussion awareness, injury prevention, safe training methods, and resources/links for hot topics in the SIA community. The content will be hosted on my website (idefirefly.com) until I get feedback from our growing community of Patrons about final edits and improvements. At a later date, it may be moved to a new, separate website to accommodate global access to this resource.
Make a difference today and join a group of acrobats dedicated to providing support and safety to all members in our community!
